Swim in the springs, canoe down the river, explore the trails, and have your kids add their own painted rock to the new “Nature Rocks” painted-rock garden at Wekiwa Springs State Park!

The Wekiwa Springs State Park rock garden was created this year as part of Wekiva Elementary’s Bear Brigade Program, where fourth graders learned about Florida black bears and how to safely coexist with them. Students also filled the garden with their own painted rocks, and now it’s your turn!

The park and its partners invite you and your family to paint a rock of your favorite native plant or wildlife and place it in the garden during your next visit. Part of the fun is locating the garden and the adventure and wildlife you’ll experience along the way! Ask a park ranger for some helpful tips and have fun!
