Home is where the heart is. No one understands that better than Carolyn Moriarty, founder of Carolyn Moriarty & Company based in Altamonte Springs. The award-winning Realtor/broker is all about “the heart of the home” for her clients. Carolyn’s motto is reflected in all she does, even down to the company’s heart-shaped business cards and heart-shaped logo, which is a blend of her initials she designed herself.
“I wanted my logo to have meaning and purpose,” Carolyn says. But what no logo can convey is the true heart of the woman whose meteoric rise to become one of Central Florida’s most successful real estate agents is borne out of a deep devotion to her children.
Carolyn joined RE/MAX Select as an agent in 2005. Only three-and-a-half years later, she was inducted into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame. Her sales performance made Carolyn a star at RE/MAX, but the satisfaction of her clients is what earned Carolyn the respect of her peers and neighbors. In fact, she was voted best in client satisfaction from 2008-2015 by her fellow agents. Dubbed “The Lady to Watch,” Carolyn was featured in Orlando Homebuyer magazine and Top Agent magazine and voted Woman of the Year for the National Association of Professional Women. After just seven years in the business, Carolyn had accomplished what few Realtors do in a lifetime, selling more than 1,000 properties.
Carolyn found passion in her work and credits her father for instilling in her a strong work ethic. She’s not afraid to put in the extra hours to get the job done for her clients. Taking her father’s advice to heart paid off for Carolyn, and after seven years with RE/MAX, she struck out on her own, looking to put her own stamp and style on the profession she loved.
In 2015, Carolyn bought and renovated an office building in Altamonte Springs, turning it into a state-of-the-art headquarters for Carolyn Moriarty & Company. The new brokerage, which opened in December, houses eight agents and a title company and collaborates with an adjacent general counsel, making Carolyn Moriarty & Company a one-stop shop for anyone seeking to buy or sell a property.
“My vision,” says Carolyn, “is to add a mortgage broker to help clients with financing and eventually grow the business to 15-20 agents.”
With a stellar reputation in the industry, Carolyn will be looking for agents who share her passion and credibility. Within the next five years, she envisions being one of the largest brokerages in Central Florida. To do that, Carolyn knows that only people who share her work ethic and genuine concern for the needs of their clients can make that happen.
“I want to give agents every opportunity to succeed just like I did,” says Carolyn. “They know they can call me anytime for advice, even if it’s 2:00 a.m. I tell them we must always do what’s right to protect our customers.”
Making clients priority one has paid off. Dave Montes and his wife bought an investment property last year, saying, “Carolyn brought the investment to our attention, and it was an immediate sale after that. She is distinguished, personable, sincere, and a plain hard worker. Those are qualities you don’t always find in Realtors. Most of all, she’s one of those people you just like to be around.”
Jan and Keith Stevens are retiring from Georgia to Central Florida. “We really enjoy Carolyn helping us in the process,” says Jan. “Her enthusiasm and drive and willingness to go way beyond the call of duty are unlike anyone I know. We’ve become friends.”
Perhaps nothing speaks more to the heart of a woman than what her children think of her. Carolyn’s son, Sean Moriarty, fondly recalls a loving mom who always put him and his sister first.
“She helped me start my own construction business, getting it off the ground,” says Sean. “I tell people I couldn’t have done it myself.”
Clearly, Carolyn puts her heart into everything she does.
