Since its grand opening in mid-February, O2B Kids Altamonte Springs has enjoyed a warm welcome to the neighborhood and seen a steady growth in both its preschool and afterschool programs.

“With preschool, parents have to see it, they have to touch and feel it,” explains Michelle Deschamps, facility manager for O2B Kids Altamonte. “They have to meet the teachers. It’s such a personal business. But it’s been a steady increase. Every day a little bit more.”

One of eight locations in Florida, O2B Kids Altamonte joins its Oviedo Mall sister location as Seminole County’s second O2B Kids Supercenter. O2B Kids members have access to more than 26,000 interior square feet of play area, 10,000 square feet of outdoor playgrounds, and a plethora of classes and activities such as gymnastics, dance, karate, music, art, science, sports, and cheer. O2B Kids also offers homeschool enrichment classes as well as community events such as Parent’s Night Out and holiday festivals.

Michelle is especially proud of the affordability of O2B Kids preschool and afterschool programs ($190 and $80 per week, respectively).

“People say, ‘Wow, there’s so much here! That’s all we have to pay? It’s not extra if my child wants to pick dance and karate?’ No. It’s all part of their tuition,” says Michelle. We want to make it affordable for families. We want families to have this as a place for their kids to grow.”

Tuition also includes two hours of free daily drop-off for children six years old and older, “So if on Saturday mornings mom and dad want to go run errands, and the kids want to come play, they can drop them off,” Michelle explains.

Unlike some preschool and afterschool programs, O2B Kids is licensed by the Department of Children and Families and all staff members must go through 40 hours of DCF training and be CPR and first-aid certified.

For its afterschool program, O2B Kids Altamonte picks up children from seven local elementary schools.

“We’re an all-in-one location for the convenience of parents and the benefit of their children,” says Michelle. “This allows children to experiment with a wide variety of activities, rather than picking one or two that simply fit into a parent’s busy schedule. More importantly, we offer these events for one price with our Family Membership of $20 a week per child.”

“We’ve been totally embraced by the Altamonte Springs community,” Michelle continues. “It’s been nice to meet so many families who enjoy having the wide variety of care options we provide.”
